Repeating pattern in The Signal (4 ascending tones)
After a few spins of The Signal, I noticed that Fever and Do It Again shared the same melody on "Drive me crazy" and "Maybe I'm running through your veins". Then the same thing popped up at me in Sorry just near the end, hummed. This, I noticed a long time ago, and wanted to share but never got to it. Recently, I noticed the same thing in Mecasanova, in the interlude. I listed the occurrences and it struck me that they were in songs 2,4,5,6. So I listened to Right Lane carefully and Man! There it is in backing vocals. Update: Then I listened to The Name of My Baby carefully and... backing vocals in the interlude. ("you want to suffer with me again") Plus the second part of the introductory vocal line.
I've not yet gotten to analyze the exact pitch of the individual occurrences. So please, tell me what you think about it. Or if this has been discussed elsewhere, point me please. If you find any more of this in The Signal, or in previous Sandra's work, or anywhere (maybe it's a reference to some other artist), please, do tell.
Here are the tracks and times where I discovered the pattern:
The Name of My Baby 2:23, (0:05, 1:25)
Sorry 2:28
Right Lane 0:28, 1:50 (backing vocals)
Fever 0:34, 1:29
Mecasanova 2:13
Do It Again 2:31
Perfume 3:18
Apart from that, you could consider this passage from Counting Trees a variation (different melody, 8 ascending tones):
Counting Trees 0:32, 1:18
Update2: Just found it in the end of Perfume, too. Added to the table.
